The LEAGUE OF RIDERS MOTORCYCLE CLUB originated from the ideas of two brothers born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. When established the LEAGUE OF RIDERS MOTORCYCLE CLUB was 100% Law Enforcement based, but almost immediately we gained interest from many individuals from other career backgrounds. After some consideration, it was decided to give ALL individuals the opportunity to be part of this Brotherhood. The necessary changes were made, and we have members from many different employment backgrounds such as factory workers, mechanics, firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement, military, and the list goes on. Needless to say, it was a great decision because the Brotherhood we have is strong, and it gets stronger every day. We are a law-abiding Motorcycle Club, and we are comprised of individuals who are strong in family values and believe in making a difference.
The LORMC has everybody in mind and it doesn’t matter what profession you work in, whether you ride a Harley or a Honda; you’re still welcome in this club. Our #1 goal is to bring people together, ride and have fun doing it. The LEAGUE OF RIDERS MOTORCYCLE CLUB will NEVER consider this MC to be better than any other MC. We respect ALL riders and ALL clubs. It is always about individual choice, and what is best for one may not be for another. LORMC members are people who DO NOT and NEVER will put themselves above others! We treat everyone with respect! We treat our brother's family as if they are our own, and with our foundation of TRUST, HONOR, STRENGTH, and RESPECT, it helps us through the good and bad of life. These values are what keep us UNITED in STRENGTH. We believe in having a strong bond with the community and with individuals. If you love to ride and desire the commitment and trust of brotherhood, then check us out! We are the LEAGUE OF RIDERS and we are UNITED by TRUST.
The LORMC center patch is a circle, and it measures 13 inches across. Circles commonly represent unity, wholeness, infinity, and without beginning or end. Circles are often seen as protective symbols. Standing within a circle shields a person from dangers or influences outside of that circle. This circular design and measurement was used to show respect to the Original 13 Members and the love for riding motorcycles. Inside that circle is our symbol for LEAGUE, LEAGUE means to join with others for a common interest or goal, and bring people together for such a purpose. Our logo also resembles the letter M and because M is the 13th letter in the alphabet and it is commonly connected with motorcycles this also shows our respect to motorcycles and the motorcycle community. At the center of the LEAGUE symbol is an iron cross and it is our symbol for freedom.
The top and bottom rockers represent the foundation of the LORMC; FIDES (TRUST), DECUS (HONOR), VIRTUS (STRENGTH), & ERUBESCO (RESPECT). These four words are the cornerstones of our foundation and what any potential member MUST PROVE BEFORE HE is accepted as a brother. Once accepted as a brother not only does he wear the center patch but also a rib rocker that reads VIRIBUS UNITIS (UNITED STRENGTHS). These values are more important than the individual and the club, for if we did not have these values the LEAGUE OF RIDERS MOTORCYCLE CLUB would not exist. The LORMC chose to use Latin on our rockers because the words have multiple positive meanings. Here are a few examples; FIDES: Trust, confidence, reliance, belief, faith. DECUS: Glory/splendor; Honor/distinction; deeds; dignity/virtue; decorum; grace/beauty. The LORMC patches consist of 3 colors; Gray, Red and Black. RED for TRUST AND HONOR / BLACK for STRENGTH AND RESPECT / GRAY is for UNITED STRENGTHS.
Many have asked, “what does support your local 13 mean?”
For us, here at the LORMC it means, Support each other, support our rules and By-Laws, Support the 13 promises that a person makes to become a brother when he gets patched. To make it simple its supporting our oath, The Riders Oath and that is 13 promises to each other and our family. It consist of trust, honor, strength, respect, integrity, family and more. We value our family and our brothers family before he became a brother. His family becomes our family as well.
